Hello Tadej,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to you to follow up on a letter sent to Scenic on Lucy’s behalf. I have included a copy of the letter for your review.
As you were my contact on board, I felt it was necessary to update you regarding the incident that occurred between Lucy and me.
The letter Lucy sent to Scenic contains several inaccuracies and appears to be an attempt to tarnish my professional reputation with Scenic. I take my reputation and career very seriously, and I felt it was important to make you aware of the actual events.
Within the first sentence, Lucy makes an untrue statement:
- There was no mutual discussion with Lucy regarding a sound check, as I did not speak with her before boarding. Therefore, it would have been impossible to agree on one.
- Lucy was contacted upon my arrival on board, approximately one hour before my performance. I requested her assistance, and she stated she would assist me 15 minutes before the show.
- When Lucy arrived 15 minutes before my performance, my sound check was already completed, and my microphone was connected.
- She also stated that I said that the equipment was not working on the Scenic ships. This is a blatant lie. I did not make that statement.
- While Lucy correctly stated that she attempted to fix a problem, she did so 10 minutes before my performance. This resulted in her changing the settings I had already established during my initial sound check, which she did not assist with.
- She also accused me of tearing or damaging the skirt on the mixing board. It is unreasonable to make such an assumption, as she never witnessed me doing so.
- She also stated that I lashed out at her in front of the guests. This is also untrue. I simply asked her to leave the equipment as it was, as I had to perform in 10 minutes and she was changing all of my settings.
- She also falsely claimed that I started 15 minutes early, preventing her from introducing me. Please advise Lucy that solo acts on board do not require an introduction, as the introduction is part of their program.
- Lastly, it is true that we normally ask the butler to turn off the room music.
For your information, I have already spoken with my company, who have in turn spoken with Scenic. The matter has been clarified.
I have worked with your organization for 5 to 6 years and have never experienced any similar issues.
I find it extremely disingenuous that someone I met for a few minutes would be so motivated to cause problems instead of fulfilling their job responsibilities.
Please note that in her email, she fails to take any responsibility for her behavior, instead attempting to place all blame on me.
- She failed to mention that she was unavailable when I arrived on board.
- She failed to mention that I called her and requested her assistance.
- She also failed to mention, or lied about, the fact that she arrived 15 minutes before my performance.
- She also mentioned that I unplugged the microphone. I did not do this as I had my own microphone.
I sincerely hope that Lucy directs the effort she puts into tarnishing the reputations of people she does not know towards performing her job to the best of her ability.
Again, I hope this message finds you well, despite its content.
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
André
